# Layouts & Maps

#### Burning Man 2023 Layout

The layout has remained relatively unchanged in the last few years, and follows a pretty obvious convention, similar to the old dial clocks. As the city grows, the radial streets use more letters every year. This year the streets go from A to K, and every year the words used for the letters change based on that year's theme ([click here for this year's names which are Animal names](https://journal.burningman.org/2023/05/black-rock-city/building-brc/streets-of-brc-2023/)).

This year the words are: **A**fanc, **B**igfoot, **C**hupacabra, **D**ingbat, **E**ncantado (that's where we are!), **F**rogbat, **G**rootslang, **H**odag, **I**gopogo, **J**ackalope, **K**raken.

##### Location &amp; Lot Information

This year our camp is approximately located at **8:30 and Encantado**. I say approximately because the actually location is officially assigned upon arrival.

Here are some basic facts about the size of the camp (remember it's a radial lot, so the dimensions are approximate):

<table border="1" id="bkmrk-approximate-frontage" style="border-collapse: collapse; width: 100%;"><colgroup><col style="width: 32.7576%;"></col><col style="width: 67.2424%;"></col></colgroup><tbody><tr><td>Approximate frontage length: **150ft**</td><td>This is the interactive side of our camp and we should consider it our front yard that faces the street.

</td></tr><tr><td>Approximate depth: **250ft**</td><td>This is how far back into the block we go.

</td></tr><tr><td>Corner camp: **Yes**</td><td>This means our camp has access to two or more frontages that can be used for interactive areas

</td></tr></tbody></table>

A wonderful group of people have gifted this facility for tracking camps on a live, Google Maps style map.

Here's the one for 2022 from their archive (and they have previous years as well if you are curious!):
