Layouts & Maps

Burning Man 2023 Layout

The layout has remained relatively unchanged in the last few years, and follows a pretty obvious convention, similar to the old dial clocks. As the city grows, the radial streets use more letters every year. This year the streets go from A to K, and every year the words used for the letters change based on that year's theme (click here for this year's names which are Animal names).

This year the words are: Afanc, Bigfoot, Chupacabra, Dingbat, Encantado (that's where we are!), Frogbat, Grootslang, Hodag, Igopogo, Jackalope, Kraken.

NYD Camp Layout

This year our camp is approximately located at 8:30 and Encantado. I say approximately because the actually location is officially assigned upon arrival.

Here are some basic facts about the size of the camp (remember it's a radial lot, so the dimensions are approximate):

Approximate frontage length: 150ft

This is the interactive side of our camp and we should consider it our front yard that faces the street.

Approximate depth: 250ft

This is how far back into the block we go.

Corner camp: Yes

This means our camp has access to two or more frontages that can be used for interactive areas
